Place of Worship : Nidanampadu Sri Laxmi Ammavari

Godess Neelampati Sri Laxmi  Ammavaru born in 15th century
in the village Nidanampadu. Speciality is that SILA and Neem tree

in the open park like area is worshipped. As per tradition Temple is

not constructed.  Minimum facilities for Devotees have bee made.

This temple is located on the Karumpudi to Durgi route in Palanadu. Macherla is the nearest big junction. I have seen many times a board with a small girl picture during my chirala to Hyderabad trips as I was frequently visting my parents at my native place chirala 2004 onwards.

Adigoppula is the village nearby. away from the village after one km distance a side road leading to the fields of Adigoppla and the Lakshmi ammavari temple is located 6 kms away from the cross road.

The occassion is quite a good turn. at the instance of father in law of Rohini as they have prayed at the time of marriage and after they invited me to join them for the piligrimage on April 18 /19th 2009.

It is a memorable trip as we prayed with intense faith that my daughter should join her husband in USA with in a short period. This happened, within the next week itself my daughter has gone to USA and joined her husband.I am indebted to the Goddess for her kind blessings and waiting for the call of Goddess to visit again.
The temple islocated 6 kms away from the main road and the there is no temple as such it is in the open under a tree. Kode duda are brought and the same are made to go round the place socalled temple with out any built structure. Then, Bali is given with male chicken and we had prasadam by 3 pm. After that I returned to Hyderabd from there itself. Others have travelled back to Piduguralla.

PUNE, MAHATMA GANDHI, AGHA KHAN PALACE JAIL

Today 30 Jan 2011 reminded me my visit to PUNE the place where Mahatma Gandhi was under house arrest for 2 years, and the place where Kasturi Bai Gandhi expired.  During 1990 I visited Pune to receive the MRSI medal award at NCL Pune.  It was that time, I have taken the Pune sight seeing bus."My experiments with truth"  an autobiography  of Mahatma Gandhi has been my favorite book since my childhood.  Around the Nineties, I could get the book from a friend, and read the same several times.

Today, being 30 Jan the day of assassination   of Mahatma Gandhi, my memories go back to the events that influenced the way that my mind reacts to the day to day situations and during crisis situations.  20 years  I visited the place, I distinctly remember the Kasturba Gandhi Samadhi and the hall where the charaka and other things used by Gandhiji have been displayed but, I wish to visit the place once again.

Buddhagaya, kasi yatra 2nd day Saturday 1Jan 2011 New Year's Eve

Piligrimage to Varanasi has profound influence on my spiritual thoughts and I have seen, how Buddha has relinquished whole family and every worldly pleasures inspite of obstructions from the loved members of the family.  How the Pithru Devatas will be rememberd and offred Pindarchana rituals that has significant influence on the spirituality, thirdly the moksha concept and Kasi Visweswara Kataksham through which we can escape from the rigours of repeated lives, the Baidyanath Jyothirling Ashirwad to live healthy till the last breath.

Kasi viswanath temple

AMAZING TEMPLES AND HISTORICAL SITES. ONE WILL UNDERGO THE FEELING OF ONENESS WITH THE LORD AS WE PRAY TO THE LORD TO BLESS ONE AND ALL WITH DEVOTION IN EVERY TEMPLE FOR DARSHAN.

most beautiful GANAGA AARATHI
On 31 Dec 2010 I started early in the morning from Hyderabad.  My flight took me to Delhi by 8:40 AM then, I could get Varanasi flight at 10:30 Hrs.  Reached Varanasi airport by 11:50 hrs and then by auto reached Dasaswamed Ghat (Andhra Ashram ) at about 1:30 PM.
GANGA BOAT RIDE
 IN VARANASI
There is no booking permitted in this place so, I have been told to wait for some time as some people have already given their consent for leaving the place by noon time.  I could get into the room by 2PM, then after a while I went straight to the main Kasi Viswanath temple.

Temple Is located in a sacred place encroached by the vendor shops from all sides.  The entrance lane of 3 and half foot width and a snake like structure with the brick road is really amazing.  Piligrims move in this narrow lane and reach the holy Kasi Viswanath temple for Kshera Abhishekam (milk). I prayed to the Lord severally for the welfare of my children my daughters family, grand daughter and for the blessing the sons with good brides.  I then proceeded to Ganga Ghat for the most famous Ganga Aarathi  at 6:30 PM.  This is another amazing and most interesting part of piligrimage.  I have taken no. of photos.

The Andhra Ashram has a travel agency fellow adjacent to their office in one of the rooms provided by the Ashram management.  They are reliable and take care of the piligrims very well.  We have fixed up visit to Gaya (for Pithru Karyam)  and Bodha gaya which is at about 270 kms away fro varanasi.  early morning at about 5 am we started on 1 Jan 2011 and reached Gaya Bihar where we had performed the Pithru Pooja and Pinda danam from 11 AM upto 1PM at VISHNU PADAM TEMPLE.  Then, we went to Bodhagaya which is 16 kms  on the way back to Varanasi. At The Bodha gaya temple, we hired a guide for Rs.100/-  This is the place where Buddha  got the enlightenment under the pepal tree (Ravi chettu) and it is located just at the adjoining area back to the main temple.  The main temple has been escavated by the British officer during the 18th century. Original stone mandir has been reconstructed using brick and cement in the same style as was the original stone temple built by Emperor Ashoka in 3rd century BC.  Ashoka's first wife of Kalinga has taken the Bodhi sappling to srilanka as she didnot wish to live with her husband for the killings of her Kalinga Raj citizens ruthlessly.

THE JYOTHIRLINGA AT VIDYANATH IS SITUATED IN VIDYANATH DHAM AND THERE IS ONLY A SMALL RAILWAY STATION BY NAME VIDYANATH DHAM RLY STATION. The main railway station is Jesidih for all the express trains.  Only train route from Varanasi via Patna is the convenient route. There is one more route via Bodhgaya but, due to Naxal problems the Gaya route is not preferrred by the citizens of the place.

Read phonetically
This is the Jyothirlinga that was given to Ravana Bramha as a boon for his Kathore Tapas hesitantly.  In order to save the world,  Lord Vishnu has taken the form of a shepard boy and the storey is well known. Rawaneswar requested the shepard boy to carry the shivaling as it should not be left on earth till he reaches his home in Lanka where Ravana Wishes to install.
The shepard boy (Lord Vishnu called thrice that he is unable to bear the weight of Jyothirling and so, before Rawaneswar reached the spot while taking bath, Maha Vishnu has left the Jyothirling on this spot thus avioded the jyothirling being taken by  Rawaneswar.  The Baidyanath Jythirling is prayed especially for good health and for long Manibhishabhi phala siddhi.
Kasi Viswanath Jyothirlinga is prayed for granting  Mukti ie no further lives.

I have travelled from Varanasi to Jasidih by train Himagiri express.  Train scheduled departure time at Varanasi is 9PM and arrival in Jasidih Rly stn is about 7 AM.  It has ben extremely cold night as Bihar is under coldwave and schools have been closed. In Varanasi it was not that cold upto that day.

Although I had reservation for the next day nght from Jaisidih to Varanasi, I preferred to travel day time as much distance as possible. So, at 11AM, i started from Baidyanath Dham station and reached nearby major station   QUOL from where I travelled by Farukka express via Patna. This Farukka express goes to Delhi and its scheduled arrival time in Varanasi s 9PM.  Alas, inspite of good pickup, it has been stopped at 8PM in nearby stations to varanasi and could reach Mogal sarai junction at 11:30PM. Then, I got into a passenger train to Varanasi as it is on the platform.  After reaching Varanasi, I stayed in the Rest Room from 1-6 AM and in the morning of Wednesday, I reached Andhra Ashram.  My flight is at 4:15 PM, so there is plenty of time.  I have used the time on wednesday 5th Jan 2011 for Kasi Viswanath Darshan, Abhishekam and for forshan of Matha Annapurneswari, Prasadm (free mealsround the clock) at Kasi Annapurneswari Mandir etc.  Reached by 1:30 PM            and proceeded to Varanasi airport.
By 6PM I reached my Guest House in Delhi and next morning to Hyderabad by flight.

All in all this Piligrimage to Varanasi has profound influence on my spiritual thoughts and I have seen, how Buddha has relinquished whole family and every worldly pleasures inspite of obstructions from the loved members of the family.  How the Pithru Devatas will be rememberd and offred Pindarchana rituals that has significant influence on the spirituality, thirdly the moksha concept and Kasi Visweswara Kataksham through which we can escape from the rigours of repeated lives, the Baidyanath Jyothirling Ashirwad to live healthy till the last breath on this tiny little graha called earth in the vast universe.

Monday, 3- 1- 11 in the early hours before 7AM I   performed Pooja at the Shiva temple and the Rama Mandir inside of Andhra Ashram .  I took the Pulihora Prasadam and skipped breakfast. We had planned for a visit to Vindhya Vasini Maha Lakshmi temple along with three other persons in the side room.  They are from vijayawada and they had come to Prayaga and Varanasi for the purpose of Asthika Nimajjanam and for performing the Pindodaka ritual at Prayaga, Allahabad and Kasi Punya kshetra. The travel fellow started by 9 AM, and we reached VINDHYACHAL by 10:30 AM as it is just 100 kms away from Varanasi.  Vindyachal is located 8kms after Mirzapur, ie towards Allahabad on the banks of river Ganga.

http://vindhyachalnivasini.com/Temple.aspx

VindhyaVasini is the diety of Mahalakshmi.  The Pujari guided us for Darshan of Mata Maha Lakshmi then, proceeded to see the dieties of Durga, Bhavani, Saraswathi, Parameshwar Mahadev with Alankar, Yagna kund (homan), Hanuman all in the same temple complex.  Then, we purchased some CD and a small book without photos.

Ganga river, Vindhyachal (In between
Allahabad and Varanasi)

The steps leading to Ganga
river at Vindhyachal

Realizing that we have not yet seen the Ganga river here we went back to the temple crossed the area to go the river bank.  The river flows from Allahabad then to Vindhyachal and afterwords to Kasi/ Varanasi Mahadev Madir. After seeing the Ganga river, we proceeded to Kalikoh temple, Vindyachal 2kms from Vindyavasini temple.
The link below gives a good description of Kalikoh temple.
http://travel.taaza.com/attraction---3007
This ancient temple in a cave, is dedicated to Goddess Kali and is situated 2 km. from Maa Vindhyavasini  Dham.
Placed in a cave in the top of the hill this temple embellishes the goddess as the Kali incarnation.. Surrounded by thick woods and beautiful streams, there is a majestic look attached to the holy premises of the temple. One of the popular devout destinations in the vicinity this temple along with the Ashtabhuja and Vindhyavasini temple constitute the famous ritual called Triloka Parikrama. Another peculiarity of this divine shrine is that one can find so many tantriks from all over India in its holy surroundings, who carry out a lot of weird rituals to cure people who are not well. They pray unendingly for greater powers from the Goddess.

Kalikoh Mandir which is located about 2kms from Vindhya vasini.  It is inside a cave. The Mata statutue is with an open mouth to swallow the blood drops that are not supposed to fall on the ground as she started cutting the body of the Rakshasa.  Back side of this temple is a well and a beautiful hill.  Here the monkeys are black Konda mucchu, and are very big in size.  After this temple we have proceeded to the ASTABHUJ DURGA MATA Mandir on another hill.  Our vehicle has been parked at the hill top from where we can see the surroundings  but, to go to the temple we have to get down the hill half its height by staircase.  Again, the diety is inside a cave just like Yadagiri Lakshmi Narasimha swamy diety ( roof is of the cave and we have to bend 90 degree to go near to the diety.)  Battery charging is over  so, I couldnot take pictures here.  Then at 3 PM we started return journey and reached Varanasi by 4PM.  I had booked a ticket to Jaisidih to see Vaidyanath Baba Dham another Jyothirling located in present day Jharkhand (at the boarded of Bihar).

Saranath and temples of Varanasi : Kasi Yatra 3rd day

Diety of Kala Bhairava temple
KALA BHAIRAVA TEMPLE

On 2 Jan 2011 Sunday,  I have stayed back in Andhra Ashram to pray to the in the temples of Varanasi.  In the afternoon our Bolero has started at 2PM.  First we visited the nearby Kala Bhairava temple.  Kasi Yatra will be treated as complete only after the visit to the Kshetra Palaka's temple that is the Kala Bhairava temple Darshan. It is in anarrow lane so, like the Kasi Viswanath temple, we have go by walk in the narrow lane for some distance.  On the way back we got lost into another lane finally managed to come to the spot with the help of generous localite who has shown us the way.

SARANATH :  BUDDHA FIRST DISCOURSE PLACE AND  ASHOKAN PILLAR

Mahabodhi soceity of
Japan made this temple
Mulagandha Kuti Vihar
The Ashokan built stupa
with the  relics of Buddha
Main diety Buddha in
Saranath temple
Then, we had gone to Saranath, the great Ashokan Stupa, (known as Dhamik stupa.  One more Choukandi stupa with 8 faces is not see by us) The stupa contains the relics of Buddha. It is said that the great Ashokan Pillar belongs to Saranath. The temple at the site is wonderful. The biography of Ashoka The great is really fascinating.  The link for reading the biography of Ashoka: http://www.biographicon.com/view/2m9pq

Briefly, father of Ashoka ie. King Bindusara had sevral wives and the mother of Ashoka is Dhamma the daughter of a Brahmin and she also has another younger son Vittashoka.  Other Kshatriya Queens of Bindusara have sons and the eldest of them is Prince SUSIMA a natural heir to throne.  Susima is afraid that Ashoka may be choosen for the throne as the younger Ashoka could supress the militalia in the region of Takshasila where Susima was named as the Governor.  So, Susima has made continuously false alligations against Ashoka and the Prince Ashoka has been exciled for 2 years to Kalinga. During this period he has married a fisher woman by name Kaurwaki and had a son through Ashoka by name Tivala.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaurwaki.  After the Kalinga war, it is Kaurwaki who braved to fight with Ashoka (her beloved) as there were no men on the soil of Kalinga.  Ashoka took oath not to fight any war and embraced Buddhism. Kaurwaki became his second queen and followed Ashoka to capital Pataliputra. Ashoka already married a Kshatriya girl Asangimitra who remined in the capital Pataliputra (Patna)all the time.

After the 2 years exile, Bindusara (father of Ashoka) sent him to contain the upraising in Ujjain (near present day Bhopal). Ashoka being wounded in the war was nursed by a Vysya girl DEVI who has been brought up in the Buddist tradition and also by the Buddist monks.  He has also been safe guarded so that the Ashoka's half brother Susima's camp should not harm him (Ashoka).    The Sanchi Stupa was erected by Ashoka in the later part of his life. Devi had a son Mahindra and a daughter by name Sangamitra. After the Kalinga war both son Mahindra  and daughter Sangamitra took the permission of father Ashoka and mother Devi and left for Cylon with the Pepal tree of Bodha Gaya and spend thier lives in presetn day cylon to preach Buddhism and non-violence.

Presently in the Saranath
Museum Ashoka Pillar
 2 mtrs ht.
where Buddha gave his first discourse
LION CAPITAL and Ashoka's Dharma chakra : As per history, around Saranath Stupa  the lion capital of Ashoka was  erected but, was destryoyed or broken the pillar, the head has been housed in the Museum. I am unable to recall the place where exactly the broen pillar I have seen in the Saranath Stupa.  Infact, when we go in a group, in a bus the fear of leaving the group and the time the bus fellows give us, the waste of time to purchases in nearby shops for the sake of getting some commission or some favours to the drivers and guide  all combinely force us to leave the place without seeing the interesting aspects we are longing to see.

Birla temple in BHU campus

Durga temple
After the Saranath Temple, next stop is the Birla Shiva Mandir in the Banaras Hindu University campus

BIRLA MANDIR, DURGA MATA MANDIR AND TULASIDAS SITARAMA MANDIR

Next we had been to Durga temple as the temple will close by 7 PM and nearby TULASIDAS Sita Rama Mandir and returned to Andhra ashram.
